Looking for a sales and service dealer in the South and East one name stands out from the crowd, Kenki Sales & Service.

Kenki is the Japanese word for construction machines and is the brainchild of Essex-based partners Lionel Whitnell and John Roe.

The businessmen wanted to find a name for their new venture which highlights their commitment to the leading Japanese brand. After discussing with Takeuchi’s MD Michiro Ito the Japanese name for construction machines was the perfect choice. John Roe said, "We thought of quite a few names first, but none of them seemed quite right. Then we thought why not find a Japanese word which sums up what we are about. Takeuchi is one of the leading brands in construction and it made perfect sense for us to call ourselves Kenki."Lionel and John have extensive knowledge of Takeuchi machines having spent many successful years running Whitnell Hire Services. The new dedicated Takeuchi sales business is a natural progression from hire to sales taking advantage of their confidence in Takeuchi machines.

John added: "We are absolutely delighted to be working so closely with Takeuchi. We have been long-time users of Takeuchi equipment and know its performance. We can honestly say in over 4 years of machine hire we have had less than 10 warranties on a fleet of some 35 mini excavators”

Kenki now operates from Langham, Colchester, with a purpose built showroom, parts warehouse and 24 hour back-up facility. Takeuchi are delighted with the growth of the dealer network. With growing sales in the past two years Takeuchi have worked to significantly get the distribution across the regions. As many as six new dealers have been appointed in the past two years.
