Abergavenny based Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd. are very experienced in the use of Takeuchi machines, having just taken delivery of the last of a batch of 55 machines from Cwmbran dealer Min-Ex.

Covering a variety of sizes up to 8 tonne, Alun Griffiths utilise their Takeuchi machines on civil engineering, road surfacing and construction sites in not only Wales but as far away as Shrewsbury, Gloucester and Salisbury and at present have 47 sites where machines have been or are working. As well as these projects, Griffiths are involved with sewerage, surface water drainage, land reclamation and canal projects. All require an extensive fleet of machines, both versatile and specialised and the Takeuchi minis fit into the company’s requirements well.

Looking after the fleet of excavators and other plant is Plant and Transport Controller Malcolm Lardner, who is responsible for making sure machines are on site when they are needed, visiting as many sites as he can on a two week cycle.

Malcolm can only speak highly of the Takeuchi models owned by the company. “We have found them to be reliable and easy to service. With an ever-expanding fleet of machines, a good dealer is vital. I have known Lyn Davies for many years and he is an excellent man, who offers excellent service and always with integrity.”

Alun Griffiths run around eight service vans to cover their fleet of plant, and are now employed looking after their latest delivery of machines from Min-Ex, which has included four 1.5 tonne machines, six 3.5 tonne and ten each of 5 and 8 tonne variants.
