First New Takeuchi Sold on the Isle of Mull - February 2008

Takeuchi on the Isle of Mull

Glengorm Castle is situated at the northernmost point of the Isle of Mull - travel some eighty miles further north and you reach the Outer Hebrides.

Tom Nelson, the Laird of this remote and beautiful Scottish Estate, has recently purchased a Takeuchi TB145 and TKB301 Breaker from Chris & Pat Webb of Webb Plant Sales, the Takeuchi dealership for Argyll & Bute.

Webb Plant Sales are one of Takeuchi's most well established dealerships originally based in the South West of England with a proven track record in promoting the Takeuchi brand across the regions.

Supplying the first Takeuchi on Mull highlights the reliability of Takeuchi; sourcing reliable machines is essential – backup and servicing is not easy to access on any island so these are vital requirements.

Tom comments "The logistics of island living dictate the necessity to carefully choose the very best product available, particularly with regard to reliability, performance and ease of maintenance. Our work program here over the coming years is extensive and the weather conditions at times can be dramatic.   Every piece of machinery has to be relied upon to earn its' keep and meet the sometimes high demands of this environment".

For Chris Webb the first Takeuchi sales on the island are reminiscent of the start of Webb Plant Sales early days selling Takeuchi's in the South West of England "both the market and types of users in Argyll & Bute is similar to the South West – mainly rurally based , owner operators, contractors and small building firms – this is very much familiar ground to us and with our 10 years of Takeuchi experience we feel very much at ease promoting the product ".Certainly with Takeuchi's  excellent reputation for reliability and its' popularity, especially among machine operators, Webb Plant Sales aim to make a success of the Takeuchi brand in the Scottish region - particularly in the more remote areas and throughout the Western Isles.
