Takeuchi’s dealer for the south CBL, report record Takeuchi sales in 2006 across the range from 1 to 14 tonnes.

With over 500 mini excavators sold in the year across the south by the CBL network of sales offices from Cornwall to Kent, CBL’s decision to add the Takeuchi brand has proved to have paid off.

The popularity of the brand continues to grow and this year the TB016 1.5 tonne has been highlighted as Takeuchi’s most popular model. This popularity was reflected not just in the south; across the UK the compact 1.5 tonne is the most popular size just beating the TB125 into second place.

Besides mini excavators CBL took advantage of the new Takeuchi tracked loaders new to the UK selling 3 in the first year. The new models were first seen at last years SED and proved of interest to specialist industries like demolition and waste handling.

On the larger side, CBL sold the first 14 tonne TB1140 excavator to Brookes Groundwork. The massive 14 tonne has had most interest from specialist contractors looking for a high specification machine where its unique offset boom gets this large machine into places most 14 tonnes can’t reach.

Alongside CBL’s hire divisions have continued to grow the Takeuchi fleet with many more Takeuchi’s added over the last 18 months,
