Mr Akio Takeuchi started his engineering company Takeuchi Mfg Co Ltd in Nagano, Japan

1971

Mr Takeuchi created the world’s first compact 360° tracked excavator (TB1000)

1972

Takeuchi opens in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with machines branded TAKE-JOB

1979

Takeuchi opened its first factory in Nagano, Japan

1980

First models made for Europe and UK – branded Pel-Job and Priestman Mini Mustang

1982

1st rubber tracked excavator launched TB650S

1985

1st hydraulic powered joystick controls on an excavator

1986

World’s first compact track loader created (TL20)

1996

Takeuchi Mfg UK opened in Rochdale, Lancashire

2000

Takeuchi SAS opened in Paris, France

2005

Takeuchi Qingdao factory in China opened

2006

1st Concept Electric introduced at SED 2006

2007

1st compact tracked loader under 3 tonnes launched (TL120)

Takeuchi UK relocates to expand business to Kingsway Business Park

Takeuchi opens a new compact track loader manufacturing facility in Moore, South Carolina, to meet growing North American demand

Takeuchi introduces its first electric machine, the TB20e compact excavator

Mr Takeuchi, celebrated his 90th birthday, and opened the new 100% renewable energy factory in Aoki Japan

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) inducts Mr. Akio Takeuchi into its Hall of Fame
