UKPO Operator of the Year – Finals 10th September 2022.

Takeuchi UK were pleased to be a major Sponsor at the 2022 UKPO – Operator of the Year.

The UK Plant Operator finals held at the weekend , provided a fantastic platform for plant machine operators from across the UK to show off their excavating skills.

More than 40 finalists were in the competition to win £10,000. It turned into a great day with a tense competition with all sorts of machine challenges in front of an audience of friends, families and supporters cheering on.

In what was a really tense final dig-off between 5 closely matched plant operators, the worthy winner on the day was UKPO Winner 2022 Hannah Jarman. She demonstrated first class skills, safety and enthusiasm for the excavator challenges on the day. She even beat her Dad who was one of the runner-up on the day.

A great thanks to the organisers O’Briens Sandstone Quarry for hosting the event, to UKPO magazine, sponsors, judges and to last year’s winner Dave Vickers who helped host on the day and organised all the tough machine operator challenges.

The M O’Brien Sandstone Quarry in Leighton Buzzard was the scenic venue for the event. The team at O’Brien’s alongside the publishers UK Plant Operators put together an outstanding enjoyable day for the industry. Competitors and spectators alike really enjoyed the day, and this competition is fast becoming a regular annual event, with many competitors keen to try again next year.
