MEET THE OPERATORS

Once again Takeuchi will be centre stage at Plantworx with a stand packed full of new excavating machines.

Visitors will get a first look at brand new excavators including the first electric Takeuchi TB20e, and the latest wheeled excavator TB395W. Both models will be featured live to demonstrate the power performance and productivity.

Making a major presence will be the new Wheeled Takeuchi, the 3-series TB395W, seen at last year’s Bauma and widely anticipated by the plant industry in the UK. The new TB395W will be demonstrated to the max in the Takeuchi Dig Zone and static on the Takeuchi stand, so visitors will get a chance to get a close look at the value-added productivity of one of the most compact wheeled excavators available.

Meet Dave Vickers from Vickers Plant.

UKPO PLANT OPERATOR OF THE YEAR WINNER 2021.

Dave Vickers is well known to team Takeuchi, a long time and loyal customer of dealer Parkway Plant, with a fleet of Takeuchi minis in his plant hire fleet. Dave will be demonstrating his first class skills, safety and enthusiasm on the all new TB20e electric model. Come and have a go and see if you can beat Dave!

Plantworx visitors can put the brand-new battery powered TB20e mini excavator to the test, as it takes charge of #TakeuchiTime, a timed operator challenge where visitors can win daily prizes. The competition is hosted by Dave Vickers (@DiggingwithDave2023) The tyre stacking challenge tests machine operators’ precision skills and speed on the newest fully electric Takeuchi.

Meet Father & Son Duo Neil (Always Digging Ltd) and John Grainger.

I have been a plant operator all my working life. I started in 1991 with a jcb 3cx backhoe loader then after a couple of years on that I moved over to mini diggers and mainly operated them ever since. I started out trading under my own name, but decided to call my company Always Digging in early 2011.
I have owned and operated Takeuchi excavators continuously since 2002.
My main work is digging and preparing driveways and digging footings for new houses and extensions. This also includes drainage and landscaping.
I am also pleased and proud that John (my Son) also has a passion for excavators and machinery and he has also qualified as a excavator operator.
I currently own a cabbed TB219 and a canopy TB216.
I like everything about Takeuchi. The machines are the smoothest, most comfortable and most reliable excavators I have ever operated.
We are looking forward to Plantworx 2023 mostly because John (my Son) is now qualified as an operator so we can both show the extensive range of Takeuchi excavators. Plantworx is always a good show to catch up with old friends within the industry and see what new technology is emerging.
Meet Owen Mays from Mays Technical Ltd.

Owen will be operating the ALL NEW TB395W wheeled Excavator fitted with Engcon at Plantworx. My work can take me to some pretty challenging surroundings” Owen continues, “from overgrown forests to waterlogged fields. I need to make sure my excavators are up to the rigours of working in sometimes tough environments.”

Owen first discovered tiltrotators while looking at ways to both improve his fleet’s capabilities and increase his business’ profitability. Owen says: “I operate a fleet of Takeuchi excavators, ranging in size from 1.2 to 10 tonnes, and while I was generally happy with their overall performance”.

Meet Mark Palmer Broughton from On Your Marks Plant Hire

Mark got into the industry 17 years ago driving big plant onsite. He then decided to get his own mini digger and after working 7 days between the company he worked for and some weekend work, he decided to go for it on his own. Mark has typically done a lot of groundworks and footings for extensions, driveways and landscapers. He has recently been working on water infiltration test holes.

Mark went on to say ‘I love the Takeuchi for pure digging power and stability with the expanded tracks. Before purchasing a machine I test drove a few other brands and none of them came close to me as the TB216 digger. Being a bigger operator driver theres so much room and very comfortable with all the controls in precisely the correct position.”

Mark is looking forward to operating at this first Plantworx as a demo driver and having a go on lots of new models as well as bringing his experience of working machines to the stand.
